Testimony of Pastor Bart and Carol
Pastor Bart W. Goetz
In a cool early fall morning I was born as the third child of five. I grew up learning to ride horses nearly as early as learning to walk. I was reared in a religious home, but did not know the Lord. The Lord led me in a very interesting way to realize my need of salvation. During the first week at the University of Wyoming I made a phone call and dialed a wrong phone number. This event brought me in contact with a born-again believer who shared the gospel with me for the first time in my life. After struggling with the truth of salvation for two months on November 4, 1979 just before midnight, I knelt down in a study dorm lounge recognizing I was a sinner and in need of forgiveness. Understanding Jesus Christ is the only one who could set me free from sin, because He shed His blood upon the cross and paid for my sin, I asked Jesus to forgive me, come into my heart, and be my God. Shortly thereafter I was baptized by immersion giving public testimony to Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection.
My life was changed dramatically. I changed my major to Distributive Education (Business Education). During my junior year of college God called me to ministry using Isa. 57:15. I was graduated from the University of Wyoming. Then I did graduate work in Bible at Bob Jones University, and later obtained a Master’s degree from Northland Baptist Bible College. I am ordained and have been in the ministry now for nearly thirty years during which time God has blessed me in His service.
Mrs. Carol J. Goetz
Carol was born in Madison Heights, Michigan, the oldest of three children. She was reared in a Christian home and attended Independent Fundamental Baptist Bible believing churches from infancy. As a young child Carol was led to the Lord by her mother in their home and was later baptized. She attended Christian schools from pre K through 12th grade. Through the influence of a junior high Sunday School teacher, she began to pray for her future husband to be saved and to grow in the Lord.
After graduation from Calvary Christian High School in Roseville, MI, Carol attended Bob Jones University (BJU) in Greenville, S.C. and majored in nursing. While a student at BJU she met and began dating her husband Bart. While dating we discovered that Bart was saved within one year of the time she began to pray as a young teen. Bart and Carol were married on July 25, 1987. God has blessed Bart and Carol with five children. Carol is an RN, Homemaker, Home school Mom, Ladies Bible teacher, and Speaker at woman’s events.
